GLONASS
The RTK of Iowa RTK Network is now able to receive and utilize the GLONASS satellite signal.  This upgrade and enhancement to the network is provided to better serve our subscribers in their various applications.

GLONASS (Global Orbiting Navigation Satellite System) is a radio-based satellite navigation system, operated for the Russian government by the Russian Space Forces.  It consists of 24 satellites and is complementary to the United States' Global Positioning System (GPS), the Chinese Compass navigation system, and the planned Galileo positioning system of the European Union (EU).

With the properly equipped rover receiver an RTK of Iowa subscriber is now able to track 3 to 5 additional satellites at any given time.  This results in a more stable fixed RTK signal during time periods of low satellite visibility.

For general questions regarding GLONASS please view our FAQ’s page.

For questions regarding your specific guidance system and what is required to receive and utilize the GLONASS signal please contact an authorized RTK of Iowa Signal Distributor in your area for more information.
